Why Organizations Move this to Us
Two ways a review process fails,
and they’re the same problem.
A review that never happens.
Staffing gaps, especially nights, weekends, and shift changes, mean some admission and continued stay reviews get missed entirely. UR nurses covering multiple duties can’t be everywhere at once.
A flag that never converts.
Certus Radar™ automatically finds every conversion-eligible case. Closing it out takes dedicated follow-up, a provider call, a review, a determination, and that’s the step UR Reviews is built to own.
Both come down to attention.
Coverage gaps and conversion gaps both mean not enough dedicated attention at the exact moment a case needs it. That’s what the UR Nurse Reviews was built to support.
What’s Included
Every function of UR review, in one place.
One team, every review type your UR staff already tracks today, from the ED through discharge planning.
ED Reviews
Status recommendation to the ED physician before the admit order is placed, helping ensure every case starts on the right footing.
Admission Reviews
Medical necessity and level-of-care review for every scheduled, direct, and ED admission, supporting the right status from the start.
Continued Stay Reviews
Daily observation and payer-interval inpatient reviews, with upgrade or downgrade recommendations made as the patient’s status changes.
OP Presurgical Order Validation
Validates status and authorization before elective surgery, catching mismatches early and helping prevent avoidable denials.
Swing Bed Reviews
Admission and 7-day continued stay reviews for SNF-level swing bed patients, supporting appropriate status throughout the stay.
Medicare Short Stay Reviews
CMS exception review for under-two-midnight stays, with Certus Radar™ flagging potential self-denials before billing.
How You Access It
Two coverage models, two add-ons.
Same clinical-led standard.
Flex Coverage
Best fit: a specific staffing gap
Customizable UR coverage: Admission and Continued Stay Review scoped to the payers or patient groups you need supported. Coverage for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. All UR reviews fully documented in the EMR. Physician follow-up and status-order support can be included. Sized to the gap, no full-service commitment required.
Full-Service Coverage
Best fit: teams ready to offload UM functions
Complete management of every admission and continued stay review, seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. Eliminates staffing gaps and late reviews entirely, including Medicare Short Stay cases. Full EMR documentation. Physician follow-up and status order support is included.
+ Certus Radar™ Add-On
Best fit: existing Certus Radar™ clients with UR staffing needs
A dedicated nurse follows up on every Certus Radar™-flagged case and contacts the provider directly to secure the order and complete the review.
+ Observation Outsource
Best fit: existing or new Certus Radar™ clients, escalation likely
Dedicated UR Nurse support on all Observation cases, plus Physician Advisor support for cases that need real clinical judgment: the differentiator when escalation to a physician is likely.

Frequently Asked Questions
What clients ask before they switch.
What review types are actually included in UR Nurse Reviews?
ED Reviews, Admission Reviews, Continued Stay Reviews, OP Presurgical Order Validation, Swing Bed Reviews, and Medicare Short Stay Reviews. Every review type your UR staff already tracks today, under one team.
We already have Certus Radar™. Why would we need UR Nurse Reviews too?
Certus Radar™ finds every conversion-eligible case automatically. UR Nurse Reviews is the dedicated follow-through: a nurse who actually contacts the provider and closes the case, and a Physician Advisor when the case needs one. Without follow-through, a flag can sit in a queue and quietly expire.
Do we have to fully outsource our UR program to work with you?
No. Flex Coverage is built for a specific staffing gap, one unit or one shift, with no full-service commitment. Full-Service Coverage is there when you’re ready to offload UM functions entirely. You can start with either.
Does Physician Advisor support come with every option?
Not automatically. Physician follow-up and status-order support can be included with Flex Coverage or the Certus Radar™ Add-On. Observation Outsource is the option built specifically for cases where escalation to a physician is likely.
How does Medicare Short Stay fit into this?
It’s reviewed like any other case type, with a dedicated UR Nurse and Physician Advisor as needed. Certus Radar™ automated Medicare Short Stay (Self-Denial) Solution flags under-two-midnight admissions before billing, so you’re aligned with the two-midnight rule and current MAC review standards before the claim goes out.
Is everything documented in our EMR?
Yes. Every review, every outcome, and every physician follow-up is documented directly in your EMR, not in a separate system you have to reconcile against.
How is this priced?
UR Reviews are billed per review at a UR Nurse rate. Physician Advisor involvement, when it’s included or added, is billed at the PA rate. Ask your account team for the breakdown that fits your coverage model.
How fast can we get started?
Timelines depend on scope, but Flex Coverage for a single unit or shift can typically be stood up faster than a full-service transition. Talk to our team to get a timeline specific to your gap.
Find the right coverage model for your team.
Pricing varies by coverage model. A member of our Business Development team can walk you through what fits your hospital.
