There is NO CODE in ICD-10 for Urosepsis. Documenting the term “urosepsis” is ambiguous and nonspecific for coding purposes.
Option 1: UTI only
Option 2: “Sepsis secondary to UTI” (if patient meets clinical criteria for sepsis)
NO SOI (not sick) –> Urosepsis
LOW SOI (sick) –> UTI
HIGH SOI (very sick) –> Sepsis secondary to UTI
